Sweden’s FMV Test and Evaluation (FMV T&E) and Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) have entered into a long-term agreement to collaborate on joint mutually beneficial studies in the land systems domain. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the recently concluded Singapore Defence Technology Summit, by Brigadier General (BG) Jonas Lotsne, Director FMV Army Division and Roy Chan, DSTA’s Deputy Chief Executive (Operations).

Singapore’s DSTA is tasked with delivering innovative and state-of-the-art capabilities for nation’s armed forces and excels in systems engineering, digitalised platforms, cyber, software development, etc. “This partnership with FMV will establish avenues for greater collaboration and sharing between the two nations. Exchanging insights with organisations that have deep technical expertise will ensure our forces are better equipped for the defence challenges of tomorrow,” Chan said. The DSTA delegation also included Alex Lee, Director Land Systems and other representatives.

BG Jonas Lotsne said “The new collaboration agreement is a clear sign of the Swedish determination to deliver on the strategy and to forge and maintain strong and long-term relations with Singapore, a very appreciated and important partner to Sweden and FMV. The collaboration is also fully aligned with the Swedish defence cooperation strategy in the Pacific.”

The Swedish FMV T&E is responsible for test and evaluation of all technical systems and platforms procured by FMV on behalf of the Swedish Armed Forces. It also provides Test & Evaluation and Training & Exercise services to both foreign defence agencies and armed forces, and to Swedish, as well as to international, defence industries.
