Eurosatory opened today, June 15, at the Villepinte exhibition center north of Paris — the world's most important event dedicated to the land-warfare sector. This edition is shaping up to set new records, far surpassing the already extraordinary 2024 edition.
We are talking about 2,600 exhibitors (over 500 more than two years ago) from 68 countries (with companies from Chile, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Morocco, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam making their debut) and around 40 national pavilions: enormous figures that required setting up an additional hall (Hall 4) and expanding the outdoor area.
36% of the companies are exhibiting in Paris for the first time — a sign of the show's renewal and the reorientation of the products on display.Alongside armored vehicles, tanks, artillery, missiles, and small arms, unmanned systems — including very small ones — claim a sizable share of the show, with a proliferation of FPV drones, mini and micro UAVs, UGVs, and C-UAS systems. That said, there is no shortage of news in the armored-vehicle field.
For Italy, for example, there are major developments with the presence of the mock-up of the new tank for the Italian Army (NEW MAIN BATTLE TANK) and of the first example of the AICS (Armored Infantry Combat Vehicle) IFV fitted with a LEONARDO turret (the A2CS Combat UOR variant). Both vehicles are under development by the joint venture LEONARDO RHEINMETALL MILITARY VEHICLES (LRMV) for the requirements of the Italian Army.
